Elizabeth Ministry Welcomes You!
What is Elizabeth Ministry? Elizabeth Ministry is a program in which women help other women during times of pregnancy, birth, adoption, or infant crisis. It also provides support to those who are suffering the pain of miscarriage, infertility, or failed adoption. How Does It Work? Women volunteer to become ministers in the areas they have experienced. For example, a woman who has twins would visit someone expecting twins. Continued support is given throughout the pregnancy and after the birth. This support comes in the form of visits, phone calls and cards, and other means of outreach, which remain confidential. Monthly meetings and occasional Women’s Fellowship events keep the volunteer ministers informed of Elizabeth Ministry happenings. Areas of Elizabeth Ministry Elizabeth Ministry can help our Parish reach out to women and their families during these tender times in their lives.
Why Is This Ministry Being Done? The wisdom of sharing stories about the joy and trials of childbirth is still needed. Reassurance and advice that used to be given by the extended family now need to come from another source. The search to fill this need has resulted in Elizabeth Ministry. By sharing their stories and experiences, women serve one another in an atmosphere of faith, love and hope. Who Are Elizabeth Ministers? Women who reach out to other women in special times of motherhood in order to give encouragement, comfort and support. No lengthily training is needed to be a volunteer for the program. Elizabeth Ministers are not counselors; they are simply women who wish to help other women. The outreach is an opportunity for like-to-like ministry based on your personal experiences. What are the Benefits?
